The GiroSardegna tradition of a short final stage with a mountain finish continues: it’s a last chance for climbers to upset the final rankings, but it’s also a chance to gain a few meters of advantage over the rider who has been glued to their wheel for five stages! Although there’s a single route, the race starts at separate times, and there are still two starting grids: MedioGiro and GranGiro. The route is the one through the Riu Cannas Gorge, which was descended the day before, but now it’s tackled uphill, then continues to climb to Burcei.
THE ROUTE: We depart from the hotel and head toward the mountains to Burcei (650 m above sea level), climbing the Riu Cannas Gorges. The climb is long, but in the initial section, it alternates with short downhill sections and is never particularly difficult (the gradient is always in the single digits!). Even after reaching the Arcu ‘e Tidu Pass (430 m), the climb continues at the same gradient until it levels out before arriving in the scenic village of Burcei.
After a short final refreshment stop and the awarding of the finisher’s medal, we descend (NOT IN THE RACE) to finally enjoy the beauty of the Gorges and the river pools before returning to the hotel.
At the hotel, you can enjoy a meal and pack your bags. At 3:00 PM, the GiroSardegna-Classic final awards ceremony will take place in the amphitheater of the Colostrai Village.
Final prizes: Special prizes for the top three overall finishers of the GranGiro-Classic (Men’s and Women’s); prizes for the top three finishers in each category (leader’s jersey + free/discounted race registration for the GiroSardegna 2027). There will be raffles for substantial prizes, the most coveted of which are invitations to the GiroSardegna 2027.
PLEASE NOTE: Guests leaving the hotel may, under exceptional circumstances, keep their check-out time until 2:00 PM. The hotel services included in the price end with lunch on April 30, 2026.
