RACE START from Santa Lucia di Siniscola: those registered for the race must go to the start independently. Given that Santa Lucia is about 25 km from the hotels in Budoni, a transfer (Bus + bike van) is provided for hotel guests who have requested it when registering (cost per person €25.00 -with bike- and €20 -without bike- both there and back). The bus leaves the hotel at 8:00 and arrives in Santa Lucia di Siniscola at approximately 8:30.
The stage includes a route that shows some of the most beautiful beaches in the whole of Sardinia; runs along marine ponds and passes through well-kept woods in three sectors:
Initial/final part (Gravel/asphalt): you cycle along the sea on dirt road up to the beach of Capo Comino then a paved stretch on the SS125 and on the road that leads to the Capo Comino Lighthouse where the Refreshment and Assistance Point is located and the Circuit begins/ends that some must repeat twice
Marine part of the circuit (entirely Gravel): from the Lighthouse you run along the sea with ups and downs and crossing a stream, then you enter the Berchida Beach (with the protected passage on the sand) and then you cross the Bidderosa Naturalistic Oasis
agricultural enetration used by shepherds and breeders whose animals are left in the wild, free to graze in a large territory closed by gates; the Gravel roads are essentially flat with ups and downs while the asphalted ones have accentuated differences in height
Back at the Refreshment and Assistance Point of the Capo Comino Lighthouse, cyclists who do a Giro will go to the final finish line located on the panoramic seafront of Santa Lucia, while those who do the second lap repeat the circuit in its entirety (Berchida Beach, Bidderosa Oasis, internal part) until returning again to the Lighthouse and from there to the finish line of Santa Lucia.
THE ROUTE: The starting grids are on the seafront of Santa Lucia di Siniscola; after the start the Gravel section begins immediately, which runs along the sea with a few short, never challenging ups and downs; in sight of the dunes of Capo Comino the route goes to join the SS125 which is followed for a little more than a kilometer until it meets the asphalt road that leads to the Capo Comino lighthouse where the Refreshment and Assistance Point is located (km 10.5) and the Circuit that some will repeat twice.
You enter a dirt road that follows the coast; after passing a small stream of water you come across the wide dirt road that leads first to the Berchida Beach (it is crossed on a path of platforms placed directly on the sand) and then enter the Bidderosa Oasis where you meet the Pedra Marchesa Beach and the Bidderosa Pond and finally you arrive at the Forestry Barracks.
You enter the SS125 for about a short stretch but at the few houses of Sos Alinos the mountain part of the Circuit begins: first there are Gravel roads (with numerous but short ups and downs) and then you enter a municipal asphalt road, full of climbs/descents, even challenging, which leads to meet the SP72 and the second Refreshment and Assistance Point (km 43.3).
Then another 4 km of Gravel up to the SS125 after which you enter the wide dirt road of Berchida that leads back to crossing the small stream, to the Capo Comino Lighthouse and to the third Refreshment and Assistance Point (km 61.0).
At this point of the race some of the cyclists will go to the finish line by retracing the initial route in reverse (Capo Comino road, SS125, dirt road that runs along the sea) up to the final finish line on the panoramic seafront of Santa Lucia di Siniscola.
The other group of cyclists instead repeats the entire circuit (dirt road along the seafront, Berchida Beach, Bidderosa Oasis, mountain part, dirt road along the seafront) until returning a second time to the Capo Comino Lighthouse and from here go to the finish line by retracing the initial route in reverse (Capo Comino road, SS125, dirt road that runs along the sea) until the finish line on the panoramic seafront of Santa Lucia. Mountain part (Gravel/asphalt): characterized by dirt roads
