“La Nurra and Stintino” – A spectacle of nature!
The entire race is a continuous “Sardinian plain” in northwest Sardinia, on roads with no traffic and no villages to pass through. The stage finish line is on the panoramic road of Capo Caccia, and a sprint will most likely decide the first Leaders of the GiroSardegna (the last 200 meters are uphill).
STARTING LINE-UP – Via Porto Conte (100 m from the Hotel Corte Rosada; 13 km from the Hotel Carlos V°) starting grids are formed without any precedence or preference: whoever enters the grid first starts in front, and the others behind.
THE ROUTE: 86.07 km – total elevation gain 721 m – (Openrunner code: 24938001)
After about a kilometer at a controlled speed, the route follows a series of provincial roads until reaching the few houses of La Corte (km 28.50); it then merges onto the SP93 until it meets the SP34, which leads to the Pozzo San Nicola roundabout, where the route division and the refreshment point are located (km 45.80). The medium-distance riders continue onto the SP57 until they reach the SP4, which takes them to Palmadula (km 59.00) and then, via the SP18, 69, 55bis and 55, to the spectacular finish line at Capo Caccia. The race awards ceremony will be held at 6:00 PM at the Hotel Carlos V°: the Pink Jersey will be awarded to the leaders of the men’s and women’s classifications; the White Jersey to the youngest riders and the Black Jersey to the last rider to finish the course.
