It’s a fast, flat stage, just as flat as Sardinia can be! An easy race in terms of altitude, yet fast and engaging, it will take place on a series of provincial roads that do not pass through any town along the entire race route: only in Sardinia is this possible! It will be a race that will certainly form small groups, which will then fight out the final sprints, where you must be careful and avoid taking unnecessary risks.
STARTING LINE-UP – Via Porto Conte (100 m from the Hotel Corte Rosada; 13 km from the Hotel Carlos V°) starting grids are formed without any precedence or preference: whoever enters the grid first starts in front, and the others behind.
THE ROUTE: 103.05 km – total elevation gain 736 m – (Openrunner code: 24948059)
After about a kilometer at a controlled speed, the race begins on the SS127bis, then, in Fertilia, the route turns onto the SS291, which leaves the large roundabout of the “Strada dei Due Mari” (the SP42) heading towards Porto Torres. The route then turns onto the SP 18, which passes the few houses of La Corte, and joins the SP93, followed by the SP34, the SP4 and the SP46, where the refreshment point is located (km 50). Immediately afterwards, the route rejoins the SP18, where the route division is located (km 51): the GranGiro will turn left and rejoin the SP93, followed by the SP34, the SP4 and the SP46, finding the refreshment point again (km 74), and re-enters the SP18 a second time, where this time it turns right to meet the SP69, followed by the SP55bis and the SP55, which lead to the finish line located at the starting point.
