The race is challenging and will most likely be the decisive one for the week’s ranking. It takes place on the beautiful Alghero-Bosa coastal road, which you ride out and back: it is a continuous up and down with no flat stretches, you do NOT pass through any towns, there are no intersections, and traffic is very light.
On the Alghero-Bosa road there is only nature and the Sardinian spring with its flowers and its scents in beautiful seascapes!
STARTING LINE-UP – Lungomare Valencia-Alghero (100 meters from the Hotel Carlos V°; 13 km from the Hotel Corte Rosada) starting grids are formed without any precedence or preference: whoever enters the grid first starts in front, and the others behind.
THE ROUTE: 87.60 km – total elevation gain 1,621 m – (Openrunner code: 17340493)
Immediately after the start, there is one kilometer at a controlled speed until leaving the town of Alghero, then the race begins at the exact spot where the stage finish will be; 40 km of continuous ups and downs follow, with the blue sea on the right and, on the left, the colorful mountains where eagles soar! After the descent from Capo Marargiu is the refreshment point (km 35), but the ups and downs continue along the SP105 until reaching the town of Bosa (km 40); you do not enter the town and instead cross the bridge over the Temo River to Bosa Marina and then reach the route division (km 44.50): the MedioGiro will turn left to cross the bridge over the Temo River again and retrace the route in reverse, finding the refreshment point again (km 54) and continuing along the coastal road to the finish line located immediately before the entrance to the town of Alghero.
